Can I be completely honest with you? Miri Basics didn't start in a boardroom; it started in my living room, driven by a bit of new-mom panic.

When my daughter was born, I became hyper-aware of everything that touched her skin and hair. I’d flip a bottle around, look at the back, and honestly? I felt like I needed a chemistry degree just to read it. I was so tired of having to Google every single ingredient just to make sure it was safe for my baby.

On top of that, her hair just wasn't happy with what was out there. Everything seemed to strip it or leave it completely dehydrated after a day or two, and I hated being stuck in this endless loop of reapplying product every single morning. I just wanted something pure that would actually feed her hair, keep it moisturized, and respect its natural texture without changing it over time.

But looking for clean, high-quality options here in Kenya? It felt impossible unless you were willing to spend crazy amounts of money. It frustrated me so much because safe, good-quality haircare shouldn't be a luxury only a few can afford.

So, I decided to make it myself.
